56-mile TT (Watopia Big Loop)…

My fastest 56 miles on Zwift’s ‘Watopia Big Loop’ course…

Done on the Tron bike. Just inside the top 70%, which is pretty poor. All the new training things i’m doing are really having an impact on the cycling and running and after one lap i just couldn’t hold the pace i planned for the workout. So i’m just going to have to keep plugging away until my legs get used to their new lifestyle and the cycling and running catch back up to where we left off.

But it’s a great course to ride 56 miles on – you won’t get bored.

It’s 4519 feet of elevation gain.

It starts at the start banner.

40km TT (Watopia Big Loop)…

My fastest 40km on Zwift’s ‘Watopia Big Loop’ course…

Done on the Tron bike. Inside the top 43%, which is pretty good for now. Managed to hold on to full pace for the first lap before i sacked out so unlike the 56 mile version this one is representative of where i’m currently at.

Nice course, plenty of variation.

It’s 659 meters of elevation gain.

It starts at the start banner.

Watopia Big Loop…

My fastest forward lap time on Zwift’s ‘Watopia Big Loop’ course…

Done on the Tron bike. In the top 43%, which i think is pretty good for a first attempt on a course that’s only open to level 10 riders and above while on a 3 hour ride.

A really beautiful route with tons of variation.

3rd Annual Ride on for World Bicycle Relief presented by Zwift…

So what’s this about?

To begin you can read all about World Bicycle Relief by popping over to their website.

That’s what everyone on Zwift will be riding for on Zwift on 2nd December 2017.

The facts…

Time Window: 24 hours long, beginning 12AM Pacific (8AM UTC) on December 2nd

Distance Goals: last year the goal was for Zwifters to log 250,000 miles during the event. This year the goal is 1,000,000 miles! Everyone who rides on Zwift during the 24-hour window will be included in this mileage total, even if they have not registered with WBR.

Fundraising: The goal is to raise US$250,000 with this event, and the majority of this will be from people who fundraise through WBR’s site.

All fundraising donations will be matched through Dec 31, meaning our US$250,000 will be doubled to $500,000.

If the community distance goal of 1,000,000 miles is reached, Trek will donate $40k to WBR.

What i’m going to do…

I have set up a fundraising page to help. For every $147 raised we can provide a World Bicycle Relief bicycle to a student in need. Every donation helps.

My bit towards hitting the Zwift total of 1,000,000 miles is to see how many miles i can ride on Zwift in 24 hours – which is gonna be painful.

And i therefore would sincerely ask anyone who wishes to donate to this wonderful campaign to pay something through my fundraising page for my efforts. I will start out riding in 2 hour blocks and post updates as i go along on the day to keep everyone up to date with my progress and you can donate what you think my efforts are worth as i go along or at the end of the day. I hope to be able to stick to doing 2 hour blocks with maybe an hour break between for 24 hours but i’ll have to see how it goes on the day. Maybe by the end of the 24 hours i’ll be doing 15 minute blocks of riding but i will keep going for the full 24 hours.

Thank you for your support.

London Loop…

My fastest forward lap time on Zwift’s ‘London Loop’ course…

Done on the Zwift TT bike. Inside the top 48%, which isn’t too bad pacing for a 3 hour ride.

My Fastest Ever 112 Miles…

My fastest ever 112 mile TT on Zwift’s ‘Watopia Flat’ route…

In the top 34% on the leader board, which is pretty good for a 53 year old who only weighed in at 115 lb (with cycling gear on) on such a flat course. My second ever 112 miler and crushed my previous best by well over 3 minutes – so well happy with that.

It gives 2480 feet of elevation gain.

56-mile TT (Jungle Circuit)…

My fastest 56 mile TT on Zwift’s ‘Jungle Circuit’ course…

Done on the Tron bike. Just inside the top 70%, which is pretty poor but i was having a bad day. Legs are going through hell at the moment with my new training escapades and it’s really hitting on the cycling. Anyways, i’ll be staying on this course for a while until i get back up to my full workout pace.

It’s 3093 feet of elevation gain.

It starts at the start banner.

40km TT (Jungle Loop)…

My fastest 40km TT on Zwift’s ‘Jungle Loop’ course…

Done on the Tron bike. Just inside the top 51%, which is ok as i was pacing for a full 3 hour session. Definitely going to come back to this course and attack it properly at some point – a of time to be had when i’m not sticking to my 3 hour intervals.

It’s 414 meters of elevation gain.

It starts at the start banner. Enjoy!
