A really delicious variation of my ‘Super Smoothie’ recipe.
200 g beetroot – really try to find ones with healthy stems and leaves and include those in the weight
25 g dates
1 fig – dried or fresh
6.4 g whole flax seeds
7.2 g whole hemp seeds
15 g fresh root ginger
10 g dried goji berries
3 whole orange – if you get organic orange then you can add some of the peel to suit your taste, but don’t use conventional farmed orange peel.
1 ripe banana – the kind with the spotty skins
1 apple or pear – ensure you do not add seeds as they’re toxic
1/8th tsp chilli powder
6 black peppercorns – preferably Tellicherry special extra bold
28 g blueberries – frozen or fresh
56g frozen berry mix – you can buy nice frozen mixes in most supermarkets
5 g fresh turmeric root – or 1.25 g powdered turmeric
Blend until smooth.
711 calories, more protein than human breast milk, 35 grams of fibre, a perfect 1:1 blend of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids from the flax and hemp and many other wonderful healthy things besides – what’s not to like…
